Seton Hill senior shortstop Liz Piekut, a South Allegheny High School graduate, finisher her collegiate softball career by being named to the all-tournament team at the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tourney.
Piekut went 5-for-13 in four games with three stolen bases.

South Allegheny’s excellent softball team has been the talk of the athletic program this spring, but the baseball team has quietly been solid themselves.
After finishing 4-12 last season, the Gladiators have shown a lot of improvement. The Gladiators are 2-3, with two of the losses coming by one run.
The Gladiators won their first two games, 17-3 and 7-0, and their three-game losing streak consisted of scores of 9-1, 6-5 and 4-3.
Penn State Behrend junior Ryan Jacobs, a South Allegheny High School graduate, was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Pitcher of the Week for baseball for the week ending March 4.
Jacobs got the Lions out to a good start by striking out 10 in 6 2/3 innings pitched to defeat Ursinus. He only allowed one earned run and two hits on opening day. (photo courtesy of Penn State Behrend)

South Allegheny's Jesse James is one of 100 elite football players across the country to be invited to play in the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl on January, 3, 2012 in Phoenix, AZ.
James will play for the East All-Stars against the West All-Stars. The game will be played on Chase Field as part of the Fiesta Bowl week of activities. The game will be nationally televised on CBS.
South Allegheny and LaRoche College standout Nate Wojciechowski is newest addition to the S.A. boys’ basketball coaching staff. Nate graduated from La Roche College in 2011 where he was a three-year starter and co-captain his senior year under the helm of the late Coach Scott Lang. Among Nate’s many accomplishments include:
